CTC Co-Instructor Rules and Guidelines
Welcome to the CTC Co-Instructor Guidelines. At CTC, we recognize the value of collaboration in course creation and management. These guidelines are designed to help you understand how to effectively and ethically engage with co-instructors on our platform.
Purpose of Co-Instructor Relationships:
Enhancing Course Quality: Adding a co-instructor should aim to enhance the course's content quality, breadth, and depth. It is encouraged when the co-instructor brings unique expertise or perspectives that complement the course.
Shared Management and Development: Co-instructors can share responsibilities for course development, management, and student interaction, which can enhance the learning experience.
Rules for Adding Co-Instructors:
1. Choose Wisely: Only add individuals as co-instructors whom you know and trust. Any agreements regarding revenue sharing or course management should be clearly discussed and agreed upon by all parties involved. Please note that CTC’s contractual agreement is strictly between CTC and each of the instructors.
2. Transparency: Ensure that co-instructors are visible to students, especially if they participate in course videos or student interactions. Transparency in who is teaching is crucial for maintaining student trust and satisfaction.
3. Proper Use: Do not use the co-instructor feature to circumvent CTC’s marketing rules or to exploit revenue-sharing mechanisms. The primary goal should be to enhance course quality and student learning.
Prohibited Practices:
-No Exploitative Collaboration: Do not enter into co-instructor relationships solely to access each other’s student bases for marketing purposes. Such practices are against CTC’s policies and can lead to student dissatisfaction and higher unsubscribe rates.
Handling Violations:
Initial Violations: If a co-instructor relationship is found to violate these guidelines, CTC will typically issue a warning for the first offense. We understand that mistakes can happen and aim to provide an opportunity for correction.
Repeated Violations: Further violations may lead to restrictions on course features, suspension of account features, or in severe cases, account termination. The severity of the response will depend on the impact of the violation on the student experience and platform integrity.
Reporting and Support:
If you encounter or suspect unethical behavior in co-instructor arrangements, or if you need clarification on permissible practices, please contact CTC support directly. We are here to help ensure that your teaching experience and your students' learning experiences are positive and fruitful.
These guidelines ensure that the co-instructor feature is used in a manner that benefits both instructors and students, enhancing the educational offerings on CTC while maintaining fairness and transparency in all operations.
